Former Press Girls Soccer Player of the Year Erica Skroski, an Absegami High School graduate, started two games and saw action in all three games played by the United States’ Under-23 women’s soccer team at the Istria Cup in Croatia earlier this month.

The United States posted a 2-0-1 record in winning the tournament. The U.S. defeated France’s National “B” Team 2-0 to take the title. They also defeated Slovenia 3-0 and held the Poland U-19 team to a scoreless draw.

Skroski played her collegiate soccer at Rutgers and was named a 2015 National Soccer coaches Association of America (NSCAA) second-team All-American at defense. She was also named the Big Ten Defender of the Year.

Skroski, who was The Press 2011 Fall Athlete of the Season, was drafted 23rd overall by Sky Blue FC in the 2016 National Women’s Soccer League draft.
